I also want to point out that in saying this - I am not saying that just because one person in a spiritual path stops growing, that there's no growth for anyone else. There are people who will continue to grow and become more enlightened in most spiritual paths -- because it's the right path for THEM. Those who stagnate in a spiritual path do so because it's NOT the right path for them.
This is definitely true in my experience. I've moved on from several different magical paths I've walked, including one I created! It's a natural progression and evolution.
Yes. I think when we embark on a spiritual or magickal path we assume we've found the thing when what we've actually found is the thing for right now. Spirituality is ever-evolving and if we stop evolving we become stagnant. I think it helps to remember why we get involved in spiritual matters in the first place. For most of us, its because "we want answers." To get answers we have to keep asking questions
I agree as well however, my personal view is that even though I may not practice as much as I would like. The spiritual path we follow is very much apart of who we are at the core. Much like the practice of magick it requires a certain degree of connection. Belief dictates a great deal of this. The evolution of an individual spiritually may in fact require many changes. While some of us require a great deal of reflection for understanding to kindle a stronger bond. I guess my point would be that the journey itself has many roads that ultimately lead us to the same destination.
